The Aera Smart diffuser occasionally requires firmware updates, especially around the release of new fragrances. This process generally takes place automatically. However, if you connect your diffuser to the app and encounter issues with your Aera Smart diffuser (such as flashing lights), the app is likely trying to download an update. The firmware update should resolve automatically within an hour or possibly overnight.
Your diffuser may also require a firmware update if you insert a newly purchased fragrance which is rejected by the diffuser before lights flash. Or, you may successfully insert the new fragrance capsule only to have the app read: “no fragrance inserted.” In both cases, the firmware update should resolve automatically as long as you keep your diffuser plugged in and connected to Wi-Fi overnight.
